time outdoors to really appreciate the beauty of the area.
There
are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy while in the heart of Broward
County.
If you'd like to spend time outside with many of the creatures that live among us in their natural habitat, we suggest taking an airboat tour at Everglades Holiday Park. A whimsical way to check out the area both on land and water is by taking a fun-filled Fort Lauderdale Duck Tour. The amazing half-boat, half-vehicle is a must do while you're here. For those who would rather spend their time around sea creatures, the place to be is out at sea with the friendly folks over at Dolphin World. They'll introduce you to playful dolphins that will be glad to make your acquaintance. You can even swim with them if you want! Bargain hunters will have a field day at the Swap Shop on West Sunrise Boulevard. It's by far the largest indoor-outdoor flea market in the region. There are amusement rides, arcade games, food market and 14-screen drive-in movie theatre along with the unlimited items you can buy from vendors. Beautiful Polynesian dancers and fire wielding warriors will have you in awe during their live performances at the Mai-Kai Restaurant and Polynesian Revue. The area's beautiful beaches are of course a guaranteed way to spend quality time outdoors. Our Activities for Kids Page will give you lots of ideas on where to take your children. Many are outside activities such as Butterfly World and CB Smith Park. Make sure to head out to as many of these Fort Lauderdale area outdoor attractions as possible while you're here, and bring adequate SPF and light clothing to help deal with the intense rays of the South Florida sun.
