Fort
Lauderdale Beaches
There are 23 beautiful miles of sand and surf in the Fort Lauderdale area, divided into eight different beach sections; Dania Beach, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale Beach, Hallandale Beach, Hollywood Beach, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, and Pompano Beach. You simply can't go wrong whatever beach you decide to venture to, since all eight sections of the greater Fort Lauderdale area coastline are ideal for taking in the sun, surf and sand. We hope you'll agree that this scenic natural resource is one of the greatest attributes of Fort Lauderdale and all of South Florida. Not only are the Fort
Lauderdale pleasing to the eye, they are also one of the safest
around. For
your safety and protection, the State of Florida has implemented a
Beach Warning Flag
System, that is in use at beaches throughout the Sunshine State.
The
colored flag displayed at the lifeguard stand will let you know what
the current surf condition is at that particular beach.
Please pay close attention to
the color
of the flag, as it could possibly save your life and those around you.
If
you need their assistance while at the beach, the Fort Lauderdale Beach
Patrol
and Ocean Rescue teams are at your service. There are more
than
50
lifeguard stands along the coastline. If
for some
reason you have an emergency situation and are unable to get in touch
with a member of the Beach
Patrol or Ocean Rescue, dial 9-1-1. Otherwise, contact the
Fort
Lauderdale Beach Patrol and Ocean Rescue at the following contact
information. Fort

Most beaches in Fort Lauderdale have a parking fee, so be prepared to pay to park wherever you decide to go. Most
of the eight beaches listed have the basic necessities needed for a
safe
and comfortable time: lifeguards, restrooms and snack or picnic
facilities. Check each location below to see what specific
amenities they offer.
Clicking on each map link will display a map detailing the exact location of that beach. Beach locations go in alphabetical order from the top of the page to the bottom. Please note that all the beaches listed are handicapped accessible and are usually open sunrise to sunset. Is today going to be a beach day? How about tomorrow or the weekend? Find out what the weather will be like for the days ahead by viewing the Fort Lauderdale 7-Day Forecast on our Local News Page. Whether it's a sunny, partly sunny or somewhat cloudy day, don't forget to put on a sunscreen with a SPF of at least 30 to protect your skin from the pleasant but damaging and intense rays of the Florida sun.
