Activities for Kids

If you're coming to Fort Lauderdale with your children, you may not yet have a game plan to keep them occupied while you are here.  On the surface it may seem like Fort Lauderdale is not a great place to visit with your kids, but don't fret, because there are lots of things to do in and around Fort Lauderdale that were made just for kids, teenagers and adults who are young at heart.

One popular place to suggest that your kids will absolutely love, is Boomers in nearby Dania Beach.  This place is loaded with liveliness.  Laser Tag, Go Carts, Arcade Games, Rock Climbing, Billiards.  Need we go on?

Do your kids need to be cooled off?  If so, take them to the CB Smith Park that has two interactive water playgrounds, two waterslides and a wild tube ride.

Another fun place for kids is Dania Beach Hurricane, which boasts a thrilling 3,200-foot wooden rollercoaster.

To educate and fascinate your children at the same time, there are quite a few places in the Fort Lauderdale area to take them.  Try the Miami Metrozoo and Miami Seaquarium to introduce them to the various creatures of the world.   The Young at Art Children's Museum is a great place for your kids to show off their creative side while having fun.

The Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre offers wonderful performances for kids throughout the year.

If your children have been asking to drive your car around, let them take the wheel of their own mini automobile (a Go Kart that is) at the Xtreme Indoor Karting off of Powerline Road.

There are numerous Broward County Parks with countless activities for kids to enjoy as well..

If these ideas don't appeal to your children or if they already had a great time at some of them but are looking for more fun things to do, there are always the kid-friendly options of the area's BeachesMalls and Sporting Events.  You can even take them to the Broward County Public Library to occupy both their time and minds.

It's also worth noting that many of the hotels and resorts in the Fort Lauderdale area have kids programs, so if you're planning a trip here, look into the activities that cater to children beforehand.

Whatever kind of fun your kids end up having, you'll have the piece of mind in knowing you kept them active, entertained and away from being bored. We are sure you would agree that in itself is a major parental accomplishment!
